On June 10, 2015, The Edward Smith Mineola Lions Club presented three scholarship donations at Mineola High School’s Senior Awards Breakfast. The scholarships were in the amounts of $1,500 each and were awarded to James Gerstner, Ana Gomes and Emma McGeown. Each student was chosen because they excelled academically, participated in a variety of extracurricular activities and volunteered in various causes within the community.

Ana Gomes, President of Environmental Club and Vice President of Student Service Center, dedicated her time to making the community a better place to live. Ana will be attending Mercy College in fall 2015, where she will major in forensics.

Emma McGeown served as Vice President of National Honor Society, costume director for the drama club and volunteered her time to Athletes Helping Athletes. Emma will be attending Siena College in fall 2015 where she will major in marketing.
